Senior Pastor Transition

Hello Crossroads Church!
Our Elders want to provide you an update on a few items to keep you informed on what is going on and what to expect in the weeks to come.
First, let’s talk about how we anticipate meeting together as a church family for Sunday mornings.  We continue to be very limited in how we can gather together inside for large groups.  Until the regulations are eased, we will continue to pursue our outdoor venue in some form.  We are currently exploring other options in case the weather turns.  For the next several weeks we expect to be able to meet outside on the lawn as we have been with some very enjoyable weather.
The number one way that we are communicating last minute changes for worship is via text and email.  Please make sure the office has your best numbers and email so you are getting these messages.  [email protected] or 209.667.1100.
I know many of you are curious about an update regarding the pastor search team.  These are the people on the team:
Rita Nystrom, Member at Large
Colleen Delahanty , Member at Large
Kim Esau, Member at Large
Christie Dalton, Member at Large
Chet Reid, Pastor Representative
Vance Kelley, Pastor Representative
Jason De Groot, Elder Representative
Lance Reid, Elder Representative

We are having our first meeting this month and will begin the process.  What is very important to understand is that this will be a long, intentional process.  We are expecting this to take at least a year.  In the first few months, the Pastor Search Team along with the Elders will be taking a deep inward look at Crossroads Church so we can clearly understand what we value and what’s important to us.  We know what the Lord tell us to do in Matthew 28 – make disciples, which drives our purpose statement of ‘Making Passionate Christ Followers.’  We also need to get clarity on what is unique to Crossroads Church so that we can apply this lens to our search efforts as we seek the person the Lord has for us.  If we do not take the time to do this, then it will be much more difficult to make sure we have a good match with a pastor candidate and Crossroads Church.  This will take some time to discern.  Please be praying for all of us as we seek the Lord’s will in these matters.  We will keep you updated as we have more to share.
We will continue preaching through the book of Ephesians over the next few months.  Our pastors are on a rotation schedule for preaching and will continue providing a word from the Lord as we move through this challenging book of the Bible.
Our online venue continues to be well attended and we are reaching both new people in our community as well as those that are unable to make it to our outdoor services.  By all accounts, we are averaging at least 150-200 people online each week.  The reporting tools tell us how many people are uniquely viewing our service, and then we can do a multiplication factor to help us determine the average number of viewers behind each unique address.  As you probably realize, one device accessing the online venue doesn’t mean only one person is viewing.  Getting an exact count is difficult, but using conservative metrics we can get a rough count.  The exciting part is that we have a wonderful venue that we can use to reach people.  In addition, our outdoor venue continues to be well attended with 100-130 people coming each week.
Lastly, we will have another Town Hall Meeting in late October.
In the meantime, please keep praying for our staff and the Elders as we lead through this next season.  If you have any questions, you can email us at [email protected]
In His Service,
Lance Reid, Elder Chairman
